0. Who we are
Kingtide is operated by Kayiita Johansson, an individual based in Oakland, California, USA. Kingtide is not a registered corporation; it is operated as a sole-proprietor product. References in this policy to "we", "us", and "our" mean Kayiita Johansson acting in that capacity.
1. What we collect
When you use Kingtide, we collect:
Account info from your Google sign-in: name, email address, and profile picture.
Email metadata from any Gmail inbox you connect: sender, subject, labels, dates, and the Gmail message IDs of messages we read or act on. We do not store the body of your messages.
Action history: a record of every email we archived or starred, with the reason and confidence — so you can review and undo anything.
Subscription data handled by Stripe (our payment processor). We never see your full card number; Stripe gives us a customer ID and your subscription status.
Usage data: which features you used, when, and how often, in service of running and improving the product.
2. What we use it for
Running the service. Reading your inbox metadata, deciding what's noise, archiving the noise, and starring what matters.
Communicating with you about Kingtide. We may use your contact details and usage patterns to send you product updates, new feature announcements, and other Kingtide products we build. You can opt out of marketing email at any time; transactional emails (billing, security) will continue.
Improving the product. We use aggregated, de-identified usage stats to make Kingtide work better.
Customer support. If you write us, we'll use your data to help you.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We do not share Gmail content with advertisers or use it to train third-party AI models. The classifier we use to decide what's noise sees only the metadata of the email being classified, and we do not retain the text after the decision.
We do not read your email outside of the cleanup task. When you connect Gmail, we ask Google for the minimum permission ("gmail.modify") that lets us archive and label. Google's permission system itself blocks us from sending email or permanently deleting anything.
4. Where your data lives
Account data, inbox metadata, and action history are stored in Supabase (a managed Postgres provider) in the United States. Subscription data is stored in Stripe, also in the US. Both providers are responsible for the security of their own infrastructure; you can read their policies on their sites.
5. Your rights
You can:
See what we have on you — every action we've taken on your inbox is in your audit log.
Disconnect a Gmail inbox at any time. We stop reading it immediately. You can also revoke our Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Delete your account. Deletion cascades through every related record: profile, inboxes, credentials, runs, audit log, subscription. To request deletion, email us at the address below.
Export your data by emailing us. We'll send you a JSON dump within a reasonable time.
Opt out of marketing email via the unsubscribe link in any marketing message.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use a single session cookie set by Supabase to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party analytics that share your data, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting. We may add basic, privacy-respecting analytics (page views, signup conversion) in the future; if we do, we'll update this policy.
7. Children
Kingtide is not for children under 13. If you believe we have data on someone under 13, email us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use of Kingtide after the effective date counts as your acceptance.
